I'm an African American woman who suffers from dry scalpage lol.?

I need some sort of shampoo or conditioner that will treat my dry scalp without stripping my relaxer. You know us black women can't use head and shoulders and such because the chemicals in it strips the relaxers we use in our hair. Does anyone have any good suggestions about what I can use?

first of all shampoo can not strip a relaxer... when your hair in relaxed the chemical structure of your hair is changed and is irreversible. a good product for dry scalp is scalp remedy by aveda... it decreases the amount flakes produced by the scalp. try it you will have great results from this product. Also, a lot of salons provide scalp treatments that are pretty reasonable.

Try rubbing mineral oil into your scalp before bed, pop on a shower cap and sleep with it overnight. In the morning, take a comb and rub the bristles against your scalp. The mineral oil plumps up the "flakes" and makes them easier to remove. Shampoo and condition as usual.

This is what my dermatologist recommended while pregnant as you can't use any medicines then either.

Some people say it is because you don't drink enough water!

mane and tail products work really well in moisturizing. try a deep conditioner once a week, and grease your scalp with tcb hair food :-)
