Pink streaks in my hair??

I'm african american with chin/shoulder length,relaxed hair and I want to put pink streaks(like Joss Stones') through my hair.What kind of at home kits will allow me to do that?

i just want to try something funky and new to update my boring hair. =]

Unfortunately, you'll have to lighten your hair first (where you want the pink to be). And then apply pink color to the lightened parts. There's really no way around that. Pink won't show up on dark hair. Of course, once you bleach your hair, it's blond(ish) until it grows out. The pink will wash out after a few days and you will have to frequently reapply it.

Since your hair is straight, the streaks should be thicker, instead of thin, which just looks weird. I would say streak only the bottom layer of your hair, that way it's subtle and a bit of a surprise (just pull up the top half of your hair). Joss Stone uses Manic Panic ( http://www.manicpanic.com/dyehards.html ), so I would reccomend that. And remember, you HAVE to bleach, or else it won't show up. Hope this helps.

I would imagine that you would have to bleach part of your hair to make the pink stand out sweetie...
