Can you use castor oil in hair too?

okay so i know that it's really good to help grow out your eyebrows and lashes but is it good for you hair to get it longer and what is the proper way to use in in my hair. (oh...i am african-american and have relaxed hair that is slightly damaged but for the most part healthy. it gets very dry and brittle if i don't moisturize often.)

Can you use castor oil in hair too?

yes and you could also use olive oil. what i suggest is that you oil your hair (untill it looks wet) over night or a couple of hours before you wash your hair.. and dont use shampoo for normal hair. use the shampoos that say damaged, colored. permed hair.. and deep condition your hair atleast 2ice a month. and trim those ends.. your hair will like it and grow pretty and healthy.

Go buy Infusium or Cholesterol for your hair. You have to be careful about home remedies. If you don't wash it out well, in addition to dryness you'll have creatures running around in your head too. In addition Coconut grease, oil has to be washed out after 24hr or it will smell sour.

I used it for the first time in many years (my mother uses it and she has the softest shinest african american hair I have ever seen), and I decided to try it again and I have notice that it makes my hair shiny and soft. I am still using. Good Luck.

I know that some hair products do contain Castor oil. I've never heard that Castor oil can help your hair grow, it would probably have to be applied to your scalp to actually stimulate growth. I've heard and read that taking biotin supplements can increase hair growth.

Girl, please DO NOT put castor oil in your hair. You going to wind up with a oily mess. Believe me. Instead of castor oil, use olive oil to retain the moisture back in your hair. You're saying that your hair is slightly damage, so you don't need to get it cut, you just need to get it back to all the way healthy. Do a protein treatment on your hair bi-weekly. You can use Joico K-Pak Reconstructor Treatment (if you're willing to get pricey), Ion Reconstructor Treatment or Aphogee Reconstructor (and these two you can get from Sally's Beauty Supply). Follow this with a MOISTURIZING SHAMPOO like Cream of Nature, Silk Elements, Organics Root Stimulator Olive Oil Shampoo...etc. anything that says "Moisturizing". Always follow a protein treatment with a moisturizing shampoo because the protein treatment can make the hair dry but it's beneficial to the strength of the hair. Then follow with your regular conditioner or if you choose to do a deep conditioning you can do that too. Protein treatments keep the hair strong and helps guard against breakage and damage. And if your hair is already damage Protein treatments and Moisturizing treatments help get it back in health. Hot oil treatments are the moisturizing treatments that bring back the moisture to the hair and scalp and is important to do like once a month, but can be applied more if your hair is damaged. Maybe try to coordinate it in between the protein treatments. And use pure Jojoba oil on your scalp to lock in that moisture also, not Castor Oil. Keep that for the eyebrows.
