How do I get rid of that "oily hair smell"?

I am African American however, I have to wash my hair every other day bc if I don't my scalp will have that "oily smell." It's not really the hair that has an odor, but it's the scalp. I have tried every shampoo and conditioner but when I wash my hair and get up the next morning my scalp will have that smell. I don't know what to do anymore. I know some people would suggest that I skip the conditioner, but I can't. I know my avatar has afro textured hair, however my natural hair is frizzy/ wavy so using a conditioner is a must. What can I do to get rid of this?

How do I get rid of that "oily hair smell"?

Try using a shampoo with tea tree oil in it. Tea Tree oil is a natural astringent so it might help. You can also try something like nizoreal or Perfect Results medicated shampoo and conditioner it is great for African American hair and it also has a great conditioner that comes with it. If all else fails try good ole' dish soap... the only con to this treatment is it will strip your hair of any impurities so you'll have to do a good condition to avoid dry scalp!

How do I get rid of that "oily hair smell"?

There are products out there that are supposed to remove certain odors from your hair-- can't think of any one particular product, but you could probably find something on www.beauty.com, or maybe www.sephora.com or www.ulta.com. There are also dry shampoo products that may help with the oily hair smell-- I'd check the same websites for more info.

EDIT-- I typed 'dry shampoo' into google's search engine and quite a few sites came up-- here's one from Sephora's site--http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh...

How do I get rid of that "oily hair smell"?

you need to switch shampoos...and use a lemon rinse or apple cider vinegar rinse on your hair...skip the greases with mineral oil..they are horrible for your hair*****you need a deep cleaning shampoo a clarifying one like Neutrogena its gentle but it works and so does Nizoral and don't skip your conditioner

How do I get rid of that "oily hair smell"?

have you use ganier and or tresemme

What can i put in my hair to make it healthy and thicker again?

I am african american and i have been bleaching my hair for a while now, my hair is very strong and usually can take the bleach and color i recently just put a relaxer in my hair and i've notice my hair is starting to come out a lot, it is now thin and long i want it healthy and thicker again i usually go to the domican shop and get a deep conditioner treatment but i don't feel like it's working, i tried everything but nothing works any suggestion?

What can i put in my hair to make it healthy and thicker again?

well your definielty over processing your hair.... Try a hot oil and try not to bleach, relax, blowdry etc... it's gonna take time cause youv'e done alot of damage to it!...

don't condition to much... to much conditioning can make it to soft. best bet, even though you might not want to hear it... leave your hair alone and let it take it's natural course, try cutting it to make it healthier and take out any dead, dry ends etc....

What can i put in my hair to make it healthy and thicker again?

only condition it for now Stop putting so much stuff in it, it will slowly go back to normal, or what you expect to be normal

Just leave it alone.

What can i put in my hair to make it healthy and thicker again?

mayonaise. it works. trust me.

What can I do or what products should I use to make my hair grow really fast?

I'm African american with really thick hair. Please help!!!

What can I do or what products should I use to make my hair grow really fast?

HAIR GROWTH ANSWER

I have developed a 10 step protocol for growing hair called 10,000 HEADS. It was developed over the last 6 years and has a success rate of 86% in women...the hair loss in men and women are two different causes.

Assuming you are a woman, i can give you a couple steps and then tell you if you want additional ones to go to my Blog for more www . killerstrands . blogspot . com

1) you must get rid of Shampoo with SLS or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or sister ALS Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate in the ingredient list. These 2 ingredients are now thought to cause hair follicle damage and have been on my pet peeve list for years... all large shampoo manufacturers are in the prodcess of eliminating them from their shampoos. The sooner you get them off your head the better. Their is a list of 20 brands without them on my blog or 'Yahoo' it.

2) Nutrition: you must have a diet heavy in protein....protein is an item many people have let go ...and it has really hurt the hair growth of women in America.Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and having protein in that meal, such as eggs is a great start. 1 apple and 1 handful of nuts every day of your life along with 3 servings of colorful vegetables everyday and your hair will begin to change. This is the hardest step to get people to follow but the one that if followed will help the hair in the long run. If you don't think it is, go visit a rehab center for anorexia/bullimia which is where I volunteered my services as a hair colorist for a couple years and where this step entered the protocol.

The most important part of the protocol is this top 10 list that you must bee 100% ON ( NOT DOING ONE THING ON THE LIST):

The Top 10 Habits that can Destroy and Damage your Hair

1) Smoking weed

2) FIA : Flat Iron Addiction

3) alcoholism

4) anorexia/bullimia

5) shampoo with SLS /ALS in the ingredient list

6) no exercise

7) smoking cigarettes

8) living daily stressful life

9) overlapping w/ bleach

10) using boxed hair color kits

There are another 8 tips you should pay attention to....

Men have a quick fix pill....

women don't

the pill for men is fantastic but its good enough and find not many really want to work at it....

because with work.............it can be improved a whole helluva lot....

What can I do or what products should I use to make my hair grow really fast?

any product u use will make ur hair reach its maximum length in a healthy way but cannot speed up the growth rate.

growth rate is hereditary, controlled by genes. and its about 1cm per month

this hair growth gene is slower in Africans and faster in asians and whites.

there's nothing we can do to change that. its like skin colour, hair colour and texture, eye colour, etc. no 1 can change that permanently

What can I do or what products should I use to make my hair grow really fast?

Take vitamins, eat healthy and drink lots of water. It really does help, and your hair will be a lot healthier too.

What can I do or what products should I use to make my hair grow really fast?

TRUST ME IT HELPS =)

What can I do or what products should I use to make my hair grow really fast?

Take a vitamin supplement once a day. Prenatal vitamins are actually best for this, just get the ones without iron.

What can I do or what products should I use to make my hair grow really fast?

I have really thick hair, too. I use Softee hair grease and I wash it with Sauve. I like to press it out with a flat iron. Here's what I do:

Comb it out and then brush it really thoroughly.

Wash it with Sauve. Repeat it twice. Let the conditioner sit for anywhere from two to five minutes. Then rinse it out.

Towel dry it.

Comb through it and then brush it out.

Grease your scap. Make sure you do it in line sections.

Then take pieces of your hair and then flat iron it out.

It'll look more full and shiny.

Just do this once a month, but grease your scap every week. It could also be the change in your climate. My hair broke off when I moved to AZ for college. It was terrible. So, once I got back to GA, it started growing back. Now it's thicker and every single time I get a relaxer (I still use Just For Me the Children's Coarse) it's longer.

What can I do or what products should I use to make my hair grow really fast?

My hair stylist recommends Biotin if you're trying to grow out an unwanted hairdo. It will not make you sprout hair overnight, but it facilitates in hair growth and you may notice it growing a little faster than normally. You can find biotin in any health food store (it's sold over the counter). Good luck!

Will my hair be long enough by.............????

Hi, im an african american male and ive been letting my hair grow since mid decemeber and im trying to get it braided so ive been trying to help it grow so ive been using a couple doo gro products and next year im moving so i wanted to know will my hair be long enough to braid by august when the school in nc starts.

Will my hair be long enough by.............????

Will my hair be long enough by.............????

I want my natural hair color back quick!!!????

i'm african american i have between a dark brown hair with my ends a very light brown. My natural hair color is light reddish brown.Could i return to my natural hair color????I hadn't have it it three years.

I want my natural hair color back quick!!!????

I'm not sure...i've had my hair highlighted/colored for more than three years and I also wanted my natural color back. I told my stylist and she took a look at my roots, which were my natural color, and used a toner in my hair to match my roots. She told me a toner is not as strong as a permanent color treatment, but more like a semi-permanent. She also stripped out my highlights (i think). Ask your stylist or a stylist about it...they'd know what to do.

I want my natural hair color back quick!!!????

Yes. If you dye it light reddish brown then it can. But other than that, sorry. Once you've decided to dye your hair, it's permanent.

I want my natural hair color back quick!!!????

either cut off the color or die it back thats the only way sorry and good luck i hope it looks good!!

I want my natural hair color back quick!!!????

stop dying it!

I want my natural hair color back quick!!!????

You can go to a salon and have SOME of the color lifted, but not all of it will come out. It will just bring you that much closer to natural. You have to stop dyeing it and let it grow.

Do hair weaves look realistic?

Or is it really obvious that it's a weave?

I'm white, and typically black females get weaves, so would it be weird of me to get one? My dad is african american so I have that type of hair but white skin...

I currently straighten my hair everyday but it's so damaging that I'm thinking a weave might be better. Could someone just give me a little insight on if a weave looks good and stuff like that?

Oh and also, I've seen people on ANTM get weaves and they all cry and say it hurts but I'm not sure if it would be worth the pain, so I would like to know about that part too.

Thanks in advance.

Do hair weaves look realistic?

I'm bi-racial and had a weave, if you get a good one it looks very realistic. What do you like extentions are, white peole get them all the time. Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson and tons of other celebs get them.

Do hair weaves look realistic?

what is a hair weave, anyway if you want it dont not get itcoz ur white...

Do hair weaves look realistic?

It depends on how much you will spend %26amp; who does them.

They can look great, but feel very fake %26amp; are very High maintenance.

Do hair weaves look realistic?

Hi, I am a hair dresser and I wear extensions all the time. The only extensions that I see that don't look real are ones that are the wrong texture, and ones that are all dry and stiff. A person from any culture can weave not just black ones. I don't know what the hurting part is about. There are many ways to get extensions and none of them should hurt. If your stylist is doing your hair too tight, you need to speak up so your hair doesn't get pulled out. I hope this helped and feel free to email me if you have more questions!

Do hair weaves look realistic?

Yes , if you have good weave it will look realistic. With a good weave you can not see your tracks, the weave matches your texture of hair ,and get a good brand of hair. Getting a sew in weave is painful but it can last up to three months.

Do hair weaves look realistic?

Depends who is doing them and what type of hair is used.

Mary J Blidge and Beyonce and Paris's hair looks real and they all wear weaves and hair extensions.

It is a professional product, and very effective if used correctly, as with others, such as keracare, u just have to get the brand that works best for ur hair and use according to directions, and take care of ur hair. Don't forget to get ur ends trimmed every 6-8 weeks by a professional!!!

I NEED HELP!! i want to dye my hair!!!?

i have dark brown hair with natural reddish-copper lookin ends. can you get an idea of some color recommendations.

also,..be specific.

thank you!!!!

I NEED HELP!! i want to dye my hair!!!?

Well I love the color copper. Thats what I dyed my hair except I don't know if it would look good with your skin tone. My skin tone is like really really light. Otherwise I would do like a darker copper color that when the light hits it, it shines like the sun.

I NEED HELP!! i want to dye my hair!!!?

i would recommend a lighter brown with some highlights. the light color will look great with your skin tone.

Can somebody tell me how to give my hair a wavy style?

I'm African American so my natural hair texture is extremely thick and curly. I was wondering if any of you knew how to loosen the curl into a more wavy style without using a perm, relaxer, or texturizer I would prefer to keep harsh chemicals out of my head and use a more natural approach.

Can somebody tell me how to give my hair a wavy style?

you can braid you hair into big french braid, but wash it first than braid it and put rollers at the end or you can go to your beauty supply shop and by the deep wave rollers and just set your hair as normal.

Can somebody tell me how to give my hair a wavy style?

Wavy styles are played out.... Stay Natural. Try twists or braids

Why is my hair falling out?

I am an African American Male and I am losing my hair, i use to just think that it was new growth put every time i touch my hair or comb it there is hair falling out. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have been trying all types of different products for people of color but none of them are working.

Why is my hair falling out?

What causes hair loss?http://mens-health.health-cares.net/hair...

One of the primary causes of hair loss is a high amount of the male hormone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT) within the hair follicle. DHT is produced from testosterone in the prostate, various adrenal glands, and the scalp. After a period of time, an over abundance of DHT causes the hair follicle to degrade and shortens the active phase of the hair.

Another factor that has been linked to hair loss is the amount of sebum in the scalp. Sebum contains a high amount of DHT, and clogs pores in the scalp, both of which cause the malnutrition of the hair root. The amount of sebum in balding hair is related to the amount of oil in the hair. Meanwhile most doctors agree that frequent shampooing is advised in hair loss cases with oily scalps.

The most important cause of hair loss is inadequate nutrition. Even a partial lack of almost any nutrient may cause hair to fall. But hair grows normally after a liberal intake of these vitamins. A high protein and and an iron rich diet is recommended for hair loss. An adequate intake of raw vegetables, fresh fruits, salads, green leafy vegetables should be included in the diet on a regular basis.

Another important cause of falling hair is stress, such as worry, anxiety and sudden shock. Stress leads to a severe tension in the skin of the scalp. This adversely affects the supply of essential nutrition required for the healthy growth of hair.

General debility, caused by severe or long standing illnesses like typhoid, syphilis, chronic cold, influenza and anaemia, also gives rise to hair disorders. It makes the roots of the hair weak, resulting in falling of hair. An unclean condition of the scalp can also cause loss of hair. This weakens the hair roots by blocking the pores with the collected dirt. Heredity is another predisposing factor which may cause hair to fall.

Many of these causes are temporary and a few are permanent. These are some of the more common reason for hair loss.

Why is my hair falling out?

Maybe you have a disease. or Cancer! go ask a doctor !

Why is my hair falling out?

maybe you did something to it? heat styled it too much, or dyed it? that is the cause sometimes..

you could get around a few hairdressers and ask them?

hope this helps, and you hair gets better soon!

;0)

Why is my hair falling out?

You should go to the doctor. If baldness is not in your family then it could be a sign of a health issue... not necessarily anything serious... it could be a simple vitamin deficiancy.

Either way, your doctor might even be able to prescribe a cream to help stop the fallout.

Why is my hair falling out?

It could be anxiety. My friend had the same thing happen and her doctor said it;s a from of stress. Your body reacts to stress so many different ways and it comes out different ways too. I know I have anxiety. Go see someome and check it out it cant hurt.

Why is my hair falling out?

how old r u?

Why is my hair falling out?

Okay, heres the thing.

Women don't get bald because we produce for of the "hair growing gene"

then men do,

for men their genes die out faster causing them to go bald, not all men go bald though.

Maybe it's just your time to go bald?

or maybe you should talk to your Doctor, but chances are that's whats happening.

also there's a disease called Ring Worm,

which you might want to look up it's like lice, but worse, yet very easy to

kill. It gets into your skin and travels to areas with hair usually the head,

and causes hair to fall out in the shape of a ring causes a circle area

of baldness.

Symptoms to look for are: Itchiness, rashes, red spots, any irritation,

also if it gets into your nails the growth of the nail will slow down.

When it enters the nail it's very hard to kill.

Too much stress will cause hair to fall out as well,

also you get more Gray / white hair when under a lot stress.

PS. the cancer thing that that person wrote,

you dont lose your hair when you have cancer,

you lose your hair when you get chemotherapy the treatment for cancer.

Why is my hair falling out?

u know everyone has hair fall out everday that is normal..do you have a bald spot? If not then chances are its just the normal cycle that takes place...my daughter is half black and when i brush her hair it falls out too...its sounds to me like maybe u might have some split ends..if u get those trimmed up just a little bit then chances are u can stop the damage from splitting further up the hair shaft..also don't wash ur hair everyday....their is this good shampoo from Origins called Knot Free its really thick and very creamy and it smells like marshmallows...u should go online and buy it because it would make ur hair very nice and then u should start using Queen Helene hot oils for deep conditioning and u need to start greasing ur head with coconut oil. Good luck hope this helps.

Why is my hair falling out?

There are several reasons for this:

1. Stress will make hair fall out

2. Too many hair products could be damaging your hair

3. Heredity, is your mother's side of the family balding, Male pattern baldness is from the maternal side of the family.

4. You may be sick, have your iron tested at your doctors office and have him give you a complete check up there may more going on then you realize. Better safe than sorry.

5. Go to a beauty salon and have a professional look at you they may be able to guide you to what to use on your hair.

Hope this helps

Why is my hair falling out?

have your doctor run some labs, are you on any psychotropic medications...some can cause increase prolactin levels and or hair loss...but for sure talk to your doctor and he can check into any other meds you may be on and if they could be the cause...also thyroid levels out of wack could cause hair loss... I wouldn't worry about it because stressing wont help either.

Why is my hair falling out?

check the links below for natural homemade beauty tips to:-- Hairloss/Hairfall

http://geebal.blogspot.com/2006/08/natur...

Why is my hair falling out?

Hi many of the answers given are on track.

1. We lose 100 or more hairs a day and it is replaced with new ones all the time.

2. Hypothyroid is another cause for hair loss, have doctor check your TSH levels (thyroid secreting hormone) for this. Other things that can go with this is weight gain for no reason, very dry skin, fatigue, depression and a few others. Important to get a doc check if you think this may be it. Check some of the online sites to get a rough idea of what can cause it also.

3. Alopecia is another reason for hair loss. It is not totally known why it makes the hair fall out and usually falls out in blotched area's, and stress adds to it immensely. Stress in and of itself can make the hair fall out.

4. Some meds (one of them being used for seizures/epilepsy) can also cause the hair to fall out and they say it comes back, but that does not always happen.

5. I have never heard of dirty hair causing hair to fall out, otherwise I would think that people from other countries who do not have access to water all the time would all be bald. Could ask your doc on this one.

6. Hair care products can make the hair fall out by making the hair strand weak and very easily breakable, therefore, making a lot fall out when brushing or combing. Is it falling out all over when you are not touching it too?

7. Hair straighteners, perm solutions, and hair dyes can also make the hair weak and fall out or you could have a bad reaction/allergic reaction to the solutions and that can make the hair fall out.

8. Is the root ball also falling out or it is just bits of hair further down the hair shaft? The root ball is the part that is actually in the skin of the scalp. It is normal for us to lose many hair strands a day. I would check with a doctor if it is all falling out with the root ball intact also.

This may be a sign of balding or not, hence the need for a doctor's advice and diagnosis.

I hope some of this is of help to you and that you will find your answer. Good luck and best wishes.

Why is my hair falling out?

Well I had the same problem. and it was due to colouring it so many times {once a day for a week}. When your hair falls out, it comes back slowly, but not in the same lenght or quality. this is called a cycle and can continue for numerous times. Also, some hairs in your head {estimated average is 15 out of every 100} is in a dormat sleeping stage. {where the hair cannot and wont grow any longer}. you should, if you have split ends cut them of by a professional as split ends will never keep growing. And are you washing your hair with many chemicals? If so, stop and just remain with the one shampoo. I promise that shampoos that claim to stop hair fall, even the brand pantene, wont work, as hair is too weak and when washing falls out anyway. I suggest massage your head gently with coconut oil daily will help thicken and streghten existing hair. also, new hairs will sprout out. do not wash everyday, only every other day, such as once a week. I know it sounds disgusting but it works, as long as you rinse the hair with cold water every day. also, dont use hot water as this weakens the hair and makes it fall. advoid combing the hair, and treat it good. When hair is wet dont play with it as the hair is at it's most vunerable. Thats all i can say, and good luck. if you need any other tips then contact me. bye.

Why is my hair falling out?

Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages and diet changes can reduce hair fall. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm...

Hair Problem?

I am taking medication for acne (tetracycline)that dries out the face and scalp. I have dandruff and dry scalp at the hairline! I have tried head and shoulders it didn't work! I am african-american and it is dried out my hair and stripped my perm, my hair is a nighmare. My professor told me how bad my dandruff was during a final today!I do not plan on leaving my house unitl this problem is solved. How embarrassing!!!Help!

Hair Problem?

Try this homemade remedy:

Interesting Hair Conditioner for Those With a Dandruff Problem

======================================...

2Tablespoon plain yoghurt

1Tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1pinch black pepper

1. Mix everything together.

2. Scrub it into your scalp.

3. Allow it to remain on your hair for 1 hour.

4. In this time, it will dry on your hair.

5. Let that happen.

6. Then, rinse it out with water which is not too hot, just about room temperature, or preferably on the cooler side.

7. Do this every day!

8. This helps to cleanse the scalp and reduce itching.

9. Moreover, it works as a good hair conditioner!

Hair Problem?

have you tried selsun blue??

Hair Problem?

talk to your dermatologist about the problem. as for your professor...after you are sure you don't have to take any more of his finals and your grade is posted...tell him he is an ***.

Hair Problem?

pro active, and head and shoulders are your best friend right now.

Hair Problem?

Really.. see a doctor. This is not something yo want to continue dealing with or you could end up losing some or all of your hair! Call the doc who prescribed the antibiotic since there are a lot more meds that help with acne but don't have side effects this severe. He may just lower your dose, too!

Hair Problem?

Maybe ask your derm. for a different medication. Tetracycline is only one solution to many acne problems. I used to take the stuff, and I was getting bruises on my legs if they touched something. My dermatologist then put me on Keflex (which is an antibiotic) and gave me topical Retin-A and some other kind of cream to put on my face in the morning. It might be more of a pain to do it this way, but it might possilby eliminate your dandruff problem. Your derm. could also give you special shampoo and/or hairstyling products. (My friend had to do that for her psoriasis of the scalp.) Good luck!

What products should u use on thick, coarse, and nappy hair.?

I'm African American I have my hair in a ponytail wut should I use on my hair I want it to move w/o being too oily.I also want it 2 b healthy. And long.Check my other question and answer them if u can.THANKS

What products should u use on thick, coarse, and nappy hair.?

OOOooh you should check out the Organic Root Stimulator products. That's what helped my hair to grow, it should work on yours since we basically have the same type of hair. Organic Root Stimulator products have this Hair Mayonaise and Shampoo.....a whole lot of different products to put on your hair......even their own relaxers. Also what I'm using now is the Mizani products. Their relaxers are really good for your hair.....straightens it up real good. They have this leave in condition called Rose H20.......it's really good to put on your hair daily and it smells good. Mizani has other products too. Their are so many out there. Also try using some daily leave in conditioner....so many to tell you. If you want more advice go to a beauty supply store and ask the people there about more tips....they should know. Also if you want your hair to be long.......try getting some braids.......that can help your hair grow........that's what I'm currently rockin' right now. Ofcourse most definately you should get some tracks put in your hair. Because your real hair is braided down under the tracks......it would grow tremendously because it's under there and your not fooling with it as much if you had braids. There are so many options out there, but if you can't find any products that work for you.......you should either get some braids or some tracks. That way you don't have to worry about doing your hair and at the same time it's growing.

Hope I can be of some help,

Let me know your decision.

What products should u use on thick, coarse, and nappy hair.?

Straight Request products work really well on ethnic hair. Lite Drops is a VERY light oil that you can use that will not weigh your hair down. You can only purchase this in salons, but it is WELL worth it. Good Luck!!!

What products should u use on thick, coarse, and nappy hair.?

Usually getting your hair permed and wrapped will cause it to move without it being too oily. When the hair is properly permed and wrapped, the hair will move as fluently as weaved hair. You can do this yourself, however, unless you're experienced, I would strongly suggest a beautician.

Good Luck!!

What products should u use on thick, coarse, and nappy hair.?

taking vitamins, eating well, and drinking water will help your hair grow, but you also have to keep it moisturized.

you could get a relaxer...it will help with the kinkiness of your hair, but if you do get a relaxer you really have to take care of it or it will break off quickly! don't do it yourself though, go to a salon!

if your wearing it natural and you don't want a relaxer, then wash it, and straighten it with a flat iron--just make sure it's not too hot or your hair will burn out!

i use ubh products, and their not oily at all, but they moisturize really well. www.ubhpublications.com

What products should u use on thick, coarse, and nappy hair.?

Did you know that your hair like oil, but it loves mositurizers? You use moisturizers and then seal with oil. If you are into growing healthy and long hair then this is the site for you Blackhairmedia.com. Search and you may find your answers before you post a question.

What products should u use on thick, coarse, and nappy hair.?

Hi,

I understand how you feel. My hair is fine and wavy and I am currently regrowing my hair back out longer. The first thing you need to focus on is getting your hair healthy first, thats when your hair will start to grow longer.

There are a bunch of miracle growth products out there but I find that when you routinely get your hair washed/conditioned, set, with your ends getting cut monthly your hair will grow.

I suggest you invest in products from the Keracare line. You can find them in your local beauty store or at the hair salon. This is what I used when I am inbetween hair appointments and my hair is doing great. Your hair needs oil because our hair is naturally dry. I suggest Tea Tree Oil becaue it keeps the scalp moisturized as well as the hair itself.

This routine works well for me. If you really serious about haircare, I suggest you go see a professional hairdresser and she can analyze and recommend a hairplan to improve your hair situation. Dont just rely on products you can find at Walmart or Target. You might just need a good trim and a deep conditioner.

Good Luck..

What products should u use on thick, coarse, and nappy hair.?

This is one of the best sites I can recommend: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/...

"Long Hair Care Forums is the ultimate Internet resource for women of color that want to grow healthy beautiful long hair."

Try not to blow-dry and flat-iron your hair too often. If you have to, try doin' one..like let your hair air-dry and then flat-iron it. Less heat is better!

Careful with the products you add to your hair. That's just causing build-up. Which reminds me...you should get a clarifying conditioner or any product that removes build-up. A homemade remedy is just the use of apple-cidar vinegar.

You need to keep your hair moisturized. So you need a moisturizer particularly water-based (look for a hair product with water/aqua as the first ingredient--such as ORS Olive Oil). Coconut milk, olive oil and honey are supposed to leave your hair shiny and smooth. However, not everything works for everyone. Baby your ends! Snip away the damaged ends. Trust me...my hair was almost waist-length but I hated how my ends were looking. It looked all crispy and fried...lol. It doesn't make sense leaving them...what you can do to save some length...is continued dusting--just trimming very slight amounts.

After moisturizing your hair, you should top it off with oil. I have Silk Elements Revive and Restore All-In-One root penetrating oil. Jojoba oil is supposed to be great too. The oil acts as a sealant...to keep the moisture in. Wild Growth Oil works well too.

After you wash your hair, you should add a leave-in and then moisturizer and oil or an oil moisturizer. Try not to brush your hair too much when its wet. Its most fragile at this time.

Many people like Keracare products...particularly their shampoo and conditioner. I am currently using a Creme of Nature shampoo. They don't contain Sodium Laureth Sulphate which is apparently a bit harsh for your hair.

Hair Mayonnaise is also a great product. Its good for when your hair is in need of protein. I don't recommend you use this product on a daily basis.

Kinikakes (one of the girl's from that site I recommended) says this: "Use what's in your kitchen. Add eggs or mayonaise (protein) honey, soft, ripe avocado, coconut, or olive oil (softness/silkiness/moisture), crushed garlic (prevents breakage), or cayenne pepper (stimulates growth) to your conditioning treatments for awesome, at-home special treatment!"

Drink lots of water too and watch what you eat. Milk, protein shakes and vitamins are advised. Biotin is excellent for hair growth. It should also be taken with B-Complex or some multi-vitamin. However, not everyone can stand to use Biotin for different reasons.

If you relax your hair, try and space out your relaxers...and use the mildest one.

You need to do protective styles...such as bunning. That way you hair won't be exposed to those harsh elements of weather (wind) and it won't rub against your clothes.

Scalp stimulation is also recommended. Massage your scalp frequently. When you're brushing your hair...try to bend over and brush from the back to the tip.

Good luck with the growing process and I wish you healthy hair!

How would i thin my daughters hair?

My daughter is half african american and coccasion, her hair is very thick, i have put straightners in it but it's still too thick.

How would i thin my daughters hair?

dont do it u will b so sorry it will make it fuzzier blow dry it straight with a hot blow dryer but dont thin it im a stylist all those thinned hairs will grow out frizzy

How would i thin my daughters hair?

You need proper hair care for that read some hair tips on this site

How would i thin my daughters hair?

only a salon can "thin" her hair correctly and they have special hair products to help the longer the straighter. ask the salon you'll be glad you did

How would i thin my daughters hair?

A tool called thinning shears.

How would i thin my daughters hair?

Most likly her hair is just going to be thick, no matter what. I say let it be and just make sure it's healthy. Straighteners can be unhealthy.

How would i thin my daughters hair?

I would be more concerned about the message her mother is giving her about how beautiful she is (or as you are implying, isn't) than the thickness of her hair if I were you.

How would i thin my daughters hair?

Ummm special creams or shampoos? You might just have to except her the way she is. Sorry. Good Luck.

How would i thin my daughters hair?

Take her to a salon and have it done professionally! It is done w/ a tool called "Thinning Shears." Just to save both of you the time and hassle. :)

How would i thin my daughters hair?

layering is always a good option

How would i thin my daughters hair?

let that girl's hair be thick!!

she's just a little girl. let her learn how to manage her own hair when its time for her to learn. meanwhile pick a haircut that flatters her but doesn't require you to poison her with chemicals. as a child her hair should be natural. as she gets older she'll figure it out for herself.

coccasion ?..........scares me that you couldn't spell caucasian. i doubt you're the black half of that arrangement because you're asking about black hair care so i figure you must be really young. please let your daughters hair be natural.

How would i thin my daughters hair?

Are you asking how to make her hair seem thinner, or cutting it to actually be thinner?

I would not suggest you thin it as in using thinning shears or a razor, unless you have done this before it can be tricky, and make matters worse.

You didn't say if her hair was long or short, if she has curl (tight or wavy), or if it is straight. Does she have thick but fine textured hair or thick and coarse hair. All these details would help with making a better suggest of what to do.

Sorry I needed more information.

Good luck though.

How would i thin my daughters hair?

oh lord...why did you mess with your daughter hair at such a young age?

you need to check out... www.curls.biz and buy these products so that you stop ruinning your baby girls hair!

i am a white woman with a multiracial little girl (Australian/African American/Native American) who has spiral curl about 1/4inches and I would never, never, never consider thinning or straightening her hair because I cant be bothered to take care of it, learn how to braid/cornrow and style it.

the Curly Q products are great! I get endless comments in Australia and in the US about how beautiful her hair is and how nice it is to see a little girl with fixed hair.

get on the website, read everything that you can about how to take care of her hair and then do it. dont be one of those moms who doesnt care properly for her multiracial little girl...your little girl will thank you for it!

How would i thin my daughters hair?

Options:

-Layering

-Thinning shears in a salon

-Live with it

Don't use straighteners. It'll make it worse. Try layering the hair at a salon. I had thick hair, but when I got it layered, I felt all this weight cut off of me.

How would i thin my daughters hair?

my neighbor put a chemical relaxer in her little girls hair and it turned brittle and frizzy.

so please no more relaxers

Does anyone know of a mild hair relaxer?

I am a light skinned african american woman. I have curly all natural hair that requires a lot of maintenance. I contantly have to apply a hair lotion or grease because it is really dry. I've learned how to straighten it with hot combs and curlers, but any type of humidity just brings the curls right back. I used to get relaxers put in my hair, but decided to go natural alittle over a yeasr ago because it was damaging my hair. Now I'm thinking about going back to relaxers, because then my hair will be easier to manage. But I need a mild and subtle one that's not so harsh on my hair. ANY SUGGESTIONS?! PLEASE!!!

Does anyone know of a mild hair relaxer?

I can't get what u say. But i was much satisfied with the haircare tips said in the website here. Refer the website for more info.

Does anyone know of a mild hair relaxer?

I've seen one by pantene pro-v

Does anyone know of a mild hair relaxer?

Okay I am A Hair Care Professional....

Any brand of relaxers carriers mild.... They all have regular, mild, and super. That is true, relaxed hair is easier to manage. I suggest that you see a professional explain to them what you usually do to your hair on a regular bases and what you want your hair to do for you.Than they can suggest the right relaxer and technique for you. Remember believe it or not, your hair plays a very big part of your looks and should not be taken lightly, see a pro..

Does anyone know of a mild hair relaxer?

I do my own relaxers because I had one too many bad experiences in going to hair shops to get my hair done. So that's my first piece of advice to you-- learn your own head of hair and do it all yourself. Second, I use Organic Root Stimulator in Regular Strength. I only keep it on for half the time then I rinse it out and condition my hair for an hour. Then I use a flat iron to get it straight. I would recommend ORS and rinse out early. Steer clear of beauticians because they will try and keep the perm on your hair a long time and you will end up with broken off hair. I do my hair myself and my hair has been growing.

My daughter has curly and dry hair any suggestions?

My daugher is african american and white. Her hair is so dry and very curly. We have tried every product out there. She likes it flat ironed and it seems like it gets more dry when we do that, also she hates when it gets "poofy" . Can anyone help?

My daughter has curly and dry hair any suggestions?

try a good serum and try not to flat iron so much also use a african american moisturizer like cantu or dark and lovely

My daughter has curly and dry hair any suggestions?

I have 2 mixed children myself and i am a hairdresser, only wash her hair once a week and yes a flat iron will do nothing but damage more and more. I use Pink Oil Moisturizer everyday and u have to use alot and if u do want to flat iron get you some hot iron protecting spray and u cant get this at a store it does have to be a beauty store. Try that and see how it works.

My daughter has curly and dry hair any suggestions?

I am also mixed and face the same problems I've found that natural products like essential oils such as rosmary, lavendar and jojoba really help when added to my shampoo just remember that they can be really potant so only add a little! Also she should take a break fom the flat iron from time to time the heats only making her hair worse

My daughter has curly and dry hair any suggestions?

Conditioner is the key!!! Make sure that wehen your daughter uses conditioner while in the shower, to leave it on for about 3-5 minutes. I would also suggest a deep conditiong once a week for 20 minutes.

My daughter has curly and dry hair any suggestions?

Conditioning and hot oil treatments - both can be done at home. 1-2 times a week for each, but not at the same time, do either:

Wash and put conditioner on it. Coat the hair, comb through, and wear a plastic shower cap for about 20-25 minutes. The shower cap helps the hair shaft open with the heat from the scalp (body heat), and the shaft can absorb the conditioner. Or use a hooded dryer for 10 minutes. Rinse.

Warm hair oil - any kind that has good oils in it - on a hot plate, or over stove heat. Microwaves separate the molecules, and the oil is no longer helpful. Apply the hair and put on shower cap for about 10 minutes. Don't put a lot because you won't rinse this.

Hop this helps!!!

My daughter has curly and dry hair any suggestions?

Please take it from me!! My momma is white im mixed and when i was younger i had the same problem. Use a mist moisterizer try nubian heritages shea butter mousterizing mist works great softens and detangles. To style it natural: fill a spritz bottle with warm water Section her hair into 6 sections Spritz each section evenly until moistened use a wide tooth comb to comb each secftion after its spritzed to create seperat waves/curls then Spritz hair sections one by one evenly with the moisterizer being cautious not to unravel or lossen any curl/wave section next flip her head so the curls hang freely as to remove the parted lines Next rub a grape sized amount of flexible conditioning gel ( Lets Jam) in your hand and through her upside down head coating the entier head wrap hair in a towel for 15-20 minutes and remove!!!!!! sounds like alot but doesnt take long and you get better with practice on what works with your head and what dosent ....Hope this helps!!!

My daughter has curly and dry hair any suggestions?

try a defrizzing serum or hair lotion . I have frizzy hair to and it works for me.

My daughter has curly and dry hair any suggestions?

- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten curly hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage curly hair- be happy for life!

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sodium lauryl sulfate or anything close to that). They dry out curly hair. Conditioner can aptly be used to wash the scalp and hair.

- I don't know much about that specific type of curly hair (I am caucasian and probably do not have the same hair texture), so I couldn't recommend many good products. Do stay away from silicones products if your daughter decides to stop shampooing because they cause build up. Check out naturally curly and curly girl for specific products and routines. Hope this helps!

My hair is not silky smooth. What can be done?

ok im an african american male and i recently texturized my hair. i like my new look but the problem is that even though my hair is soft people say its dry. and so i was wondering how do i maintain shine and silkiness? can somebody give me a rundown on how to get that smooth, silky and shiny looking hair again? i would also like to know several products such as shampoos and moisturizers that would help me through this cause.

My hair is not silky smooth. What can be done?

As a hairdresser i would recommend trying fudge dynamite as a treatment product. It helps with dryness and with manageability.Try a serum as a styling product to apply to dry hair which will add shine and help close the cuticle of the hair shaft.this will stop the hair from looking fluffy.texturizing sometimes can make hair very split looking towards the ends.using a gel or a mouldable wax styler will help the hair strand seem sealed root to ends.hope it helps.

My hair is not silky smooth. What can be done?

why do you want ti to be silky smooth. I wouldn't expect your hair to be like that. that kind of hair would be weird on you. just enjoy the fact that your hair is different and flaunt it!

go to the "girly" isles at the store, where the shampoos are and stuff, and theres always a section with products specifically for african americans. find those "hair masques" or oil treatment things.

My hair is not silky smooth. What can be done?

...There is a great line of products made exclusively for your hair....they were only available to hair stylists for a long time last week I saw them on EBAY....they ROCK for DRY, frizzy hair on anybody....so everyone check them out....I don't know the exact site...but the name of the company is AVLON INDUSTRIES...they are the KERACARE line...and it sounds like you need their.... Silken Seal, Gloss, Humecto Conditioner....you will not be disappointed they are better than anything you can get in any store.

How do I stop my hair from shedding so much ?

I am an african american woman, and my hair, sheds everytime i comb it or pull it.

How do I stop my hair from shedding so much ?

Beleive it or not, shedding hair could be caused from stress...If you are stressed alot, its like a malting bird....until the stress subsides, you will continue. If you are udner alot of stress, try a stress reliever. Work-out, talk to someone, or if you can rid yourself of the stress causer.

Another possibility if diet. You may not be getting all the nutrients you need. Might need to look at your in-take instead. =)

How do I stop my hair from shedding so much ?

eat a lot of protein, and everyday eat bananas and eggs!

How do I stop my hair from shedding so much ?

I don't think eating bananas and eggs will help you out much. You could have a medical reason for excess hair loss. If you're losing more than the normal amount (100 strands a day) I would consult with your doctor.

How can I grow my hair past my shoulders?& how many inches should it grow by July? & How lon

How can I grow my hair past my shoulders?%26amp; how many inches should it grow by July? %26amp; How long b4 i see results

The average hair growth rate is 1/2 in per month. Ways to grow your hair is to protect it by doing different types of styles that keep your hair up and don't allow it to rub against your clothes. You can also look into growth aids. Most of these are topical things that you apply to your scalp. Make sure you keep your hair mousturized. You may also want to stretch your relaxers out a bit. Make sure to always take care of your ends as well. For more information check out the growth section at http://forum.blackhairmedia.com

on average hair grows at 1/2 an inch per month. having a good diet can help but there is no miracle cure for making hair grow.

if u do want long hair tho, u can cheat and get hair extensions, and if u do, go for weave in 1s as glue/bond 1s cause damage and with sewn in 1s ur hair is braided and strips of hair sewn in, it means ur hair can have a "break" and can grow.

hair grows about 1/2 a month. some grows faster some grows slower but on average thats about how much it grows. it should grow about 2 1/2 inches by July. eating healthy will help a lot though so yours will probably grow a little faster. also get it trimmed when neccesary. when you start getting split ends just get a trim. also try mane n' tail shampoo and conditioner. i use it and LOVE IT! it makes hair grow like a weed. it protects it and keeps it from breaking. it may sound wierd b/c it was originally made for horses but a lot of people use it and it works wonders. since i started using it my hair has grown like a half inch in less than a month. its great stuff. i hope you try it.

Teased about my hair, Please help!!!!?

I am african american, and i like to straighten my hair sometimes. My friend is always making fun of me because I don't want to get it wet when i have straightened it. Plus it takes my like four hours to straighten it. So one day we were going swimming, and my mom forgot to braid it before we got in the pool. My friend kept saying i was missing all the fun by not going under water. She finnally decided to pull me under water. When i came back up me hair was all nappy, and it looked like a huge afro. I was so embarrassed and angry. She told me she new how long it took for me to do my hair, she just wanted to mess it up, and get me under water. Then when she left, my parents were going to take me some where special. But it would take to long for me to get ready so we did not go. MY hair looked even worse after she left. Also people are always asking me why I always have my hair in braides. What should I do?

How to make stright hair into a curly afro?

I'm goin to a 70's party. To darn hot for a wig. I want to wear and afro. I'm a African American with permed straight hair. I have pretty much any beauty product at my disposal. Any ideas?

How to make stright hair into a curly afro?

Your best bet is to ask your hair dresser for what is called a sraw set!! It is a style where you actually have your hair set on straws and once it has dried it is fingercombed out and you will definitely have a big curly afro but even after the party it can still be worn as a regular hairstyle....

How to make stright hair into a curly afro?

The only way I can think of is rolling your hair in tight curlers. Get under a hooded dryer or let it air dry if you have time. When it's completely dry, take the rollers out carefully and pick your hair out (carefully) or else you'll have a mess of some straight, some curly hair.

PLEASE HELP: Hair TROUBLE!!!!!!?

ok, I'm an avr. African American guy who has short, short curly hair. But I'v always wanted to get it like Michael Jackson's (2008 MJ, not 1984 MJ). But I have no clue what to do or who to go too. It should be noted that I have sensitive scalp, should I use relaxer, conditioner, get a perm, or what. I don't know what to do, is there someone I can see or go to for this? Any websites that might help? And if I have to use something in my hair tell me the best product there is. Please I need your help. I'v had the same fade hair cut for almost12 years now, I need and want a change. So if there is anyone out there who knows a lot about hair please help, your advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

PLEASE HELP: Hair TROUBLE!!!!!!?

My boyfriend has had curly hair all his life. One day I jokingly suggested that I give him a relaxer. He actually agreed. We used a regular relaxer. Do NOT get a super, if you have a sensitive scalp. They even sell kinds made FOR a sensitive scalp. You should go to Sally's. They have a lot of products and the clerks are usually very helpful.

You will have to blow dry it every day. Or you'll have to use an anti frizz serum or spray. My boyfriend uses that, instead of oil. Sometimes I wear my hair "Michael Jackson" straight, but I had to blow dry it and flat iron/curl it, and use oil and an anti frizz serum, plus a spray. Lol. So, if you don't want to do all that, I suggest just the serum.

But, if your hair is super curly, your natural curl will start returning in about 3 to 4 weeks. It's okay to re-relax it then though, since men don't put heat on their hair they can take more abuse from relaxers.

PLEASE HELP: Hair TROUBLE!!!!!!?

just go to any hairdresser, show them a pcture if they can do it they will if they cant they wont :-)

PLEASE HELP: Hair TROUBLE!!!!!!?

I am a young African American female, (who is still breastfeeding). How do I grow longer healthier hair without adding harmful additives to my breast milk ? My hair is shedding and the ends are horribly dry. The texture of my hair is like most Afro-Americans (kinda kinky, curly and relaxed with chemicals). Hair help, and yes, I want a serious reply.?

I am an African-American, Irish, and Choctaw teenager.

I have hair that is about to my shoulders. I'm not trying to be, you know, conceited, but I want longer hair, and as you can see from my heritage, my hair is really weird...is there anything I can do to grow my hair at least past my shoulder, to maybe the beginning of my back?

Hair help, and yes, I want a serious reply.?

Definitely don't trim .5" every month. You may want to join a community for long hair like longhaircommunity.com. I'd recommend supplements, but there isn't much you can do to make your hair grow faster, but scalp massages may help

Hair help, and yes, I want a serious reply.?

yep!!! u have to let it grow, so dont cut it. if u want long hair fast, get clip in hair extensions

good luck

Hair help, and yes, I want a serious reply.?

celery juice promotes hair growth. u have to mash the celery and filter out the juice that comes from it put it in ur hair (not drink it) and that helps hair growth. Also, the vitamin called Biotin is good for ur hair. My cousin couldn't grow her hair out for a long time so she used to almost everyday put eggs and olive oil in her hair now it's very long, thick, and soft. Just try doing all of the above for a couple of months and see how tihngs work out.

Hair help, and yes, I want a serious reply.?

Cut 1/2 inch every month because of split ends . Split ends will slow down hair growth .

Hair help, and yes, I want a serious reply.?

I see someone said cut 1/2 inch every month. I would advise against that since on average hair grows at a rate of 1/2 inch per month.

Why does my hair scrunch up and harden when its wet?

I'm an African American Why does my hair scrunch up and harden when its wet?

Why does my hair scrunch up and harden when its wet?

Use leave-in conditioner after washing. Follow up with Organic Root Stimulator's Shea Butter hair moisturizer. It's good for the scalp and it makes hair really soft.

Why does my hair scrunch up and harden when its wet?

Use Lottabody to scrunch pull the scrunch up as scrunching then spray spritz after %26amp; get under the dryer to dry %26amp; make hard.

Why does my hair scrunch up and harden when its wet?

Because that is your hair type, it absorbs water quickly. My hair probably scrunches up, but it doesn't harden. African Americans have kinky hair, so expect kinky things.

Why does my hair scrunch up and harden when its wet?

Because that's the your hair is... tough and every single hair is thick and that's reasonable for us ( African Americans ) because it's designed by God to be able to protect our heads in our mother country in Africa but just because we live in America that won't change our natural creation... Good luck

Why does my hair scrunch up and harden when its wet?

that's odd...usually hair gets softer when wet. maybe you are using too many different products in your hair. or you could just have really dry hair. if it's too many products start reducing them, if your hair is just really dry begin to do deep conditionings once a week

I need help with growing my hair...my mom says it's in horrible shape, what should I do??!?

I am african american and hispanic. I have more black hair than hispanic hair. I cut my hair short with side bangs and it was really cute. But now I want to grow it out, problem is that my hair isn't growing out, it always seems to have split ends, breaks off and is dull. It's killing me because my hair can look good when i style it but other than that it looks ratty so I wear it up all the time and I think that contributes to my hair breaking. What should I do..I have this shampoo and conditioner called Aphogee, it works good. What heating appliances should I use(puffy hair) and how should i wear my hair? What to do, I'm so stressed. I want nice hair!!!

I need help with growing my hair...my mom says it's in horrible shape, what should I do??!?

I use organic root stimulator carrot grease and olive oil shampoo my hair was short and it grew it to shoulder length. Its all natural and its for black hair. To strengthen your hair and give it shine use jojoba oil. Also pink lotion moisturizer is good also to help stop breakage and to add strength. Also, stop blow drying your hair and wrap with a leave in conditioner like African Royal or African Pride. Heat does a lot of damage to black hair the leave in conditioner helps repair it. Also, African Royal is a daily doctor with everyday use you should see results in about a month or two. Good luck.

I need help with growing my hair...my mom says it's in horrible shape, what should I do??!?

Listen you really need to check out this site blackhairmedia.com you will find lots of information. Be careful using Aphogee, if I am not mistaken this is not something you want to use every time you shampoo. Try cowashing (using only conditioner) like Sauve, VO5, Gariners. Braides are good to do when trying to grow your hair style out. But you need to learn more about growing healthy hair so plz visit the site.

I need help with growing my hair...my mom says it's in horrible shape, what should I do??!?

Well my moms dead so i would not know

Please! Hair experts HELP! (need styling tips)?

This has been bugging the hell out of me for the last 20 years. Finally I decided to find a hair forum and go to the experts.

Im a 21 yr old male. Mexican/Native American (50/50) and I have VERY THICK VERY STRAIGHT hair. Every single hair cutter I've ever met has commented on it. I hate it. hate it hate it hate it. I cannot do a short style i.e. anything under 1/2 and inch or it will just poke straight out like a porcupine. no amount of gel, hairspray, glue, wax, putty will control it. Right now I have a faux hawk and the top looks nice @ about 2 inches(I use garnier putty) but the sides are approximately 3/4" and it will not lie down against my head. Its always trying to poke straight out away from my head. It doesn't sound like a big problem but it is. It makes my head appear much fatter/wider than it is. which makes my face look more round (when i already have a round face). Which makes me look fatter (when I am not fat at all). I have to wait for the sides to get about 1 1/2 inches before i can "slick" it down which makes my face look more oval and compliments my jawline. But to have the side of my hair that long when trying to do a short haircut looks real weird not to mention it looks like a mullet in the back. and if i wanted to go swimming (or surfing like I do alot) you can forget it. Once all the wax is gone my hair just puffs into a puffball afro mohawk thingy. cant drive with the windows down and paranoid about people messing with my hair.

Thats the problem. A friend of mine said to try a hair relaxer from wal-mart in the African American womens section. He did it to his hair and it felt gross, real wirey and stiff. Would this make my hair "relax" and lie down? I know its to straighten curly hair but my friend does the same faux hawk and his looked sweet and he said there was nothing to keep it up. The other thing I've been considering is growing my hair out to a long surfer/skater style. Ive tried this before but still had a huge problem with the whole puff ball deal when getting out of the pool or any time the gel came out. Also the back looked terrible just a lump of hanging hair no flip or anything to it. just like 4 inches or gel'ed crap.

Anyone with a solution or suggestion would be a lifesaver. Ideally, in my dreams , I want a short stylish style that I don't have to worry about my motorcycle helmet, or surfing or wresting or sweating or driving windows down. Even a long style that has a little style or movement other than just a clump or hair that makes me look like the Beetles. pretty much just like a Caucasian super sweet hair-du so I can get all the super sweet white girls that I get along with much more then anyone else.

If you still dont get what Im talking about, let me continue to describe. I can wax the side down right now @ 3/4 inch and blow dry it, but after about 2 minutes it automatically pops back back. at like a 45% angle from my head, making it look like a freakin mushroom.

okay I'm done.

Thanks!

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

You must keep the colour which you like the best, without paying attention to other楹搒 opinions....If you feel sure with your natural color, or a temporary one, what楹搒 wrong with that? Just be FREE...

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

I prefer to black color hair. That's my natural hair color. I think natural color hair is good and special. that's my opinion. =)

Anyway, I think red hair look cool too. Don't think about what people ask you because the most important thing is that you like your hair. Try black hair with some red hair highlighted. It will look great.

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

i suppose your hair is really nice and really natural, so don't worry so much because it doesn't matter so much. of course is very important what people think about you, but more important than this is what do you think about people. it doesn't matter if they believe you or not on this subject. they are not all of them stupid. that's my opinion. maybe i'm also stupid. once you get a little older you wont care what ignorant people think about you. i have been called everything from puerto rican, to mexican, to filipino....seriously. I personally dont care anymore... it used to bother me but who am i trying to please???? certainly not any hater who is judging me... so just shake all the hater comments off and enjoy being you....=]

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

anything really....depends on the face. My hair is naturally blonde, but first I dyed it dirty/dark blonde and now its brown and thats what looks best.

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

Brunette

What color hair do you prefer???????????????

How can i keep my hair straight even when i sweat ?

i'm african american , and have long hair ,and i am just getting out of the habit of running to the flat iron at every turn beacuse of the damage it causes , but recently i've started working out more and of course i sweat ,any tips for keeping my hair flat even after my workout without putting heat on it ?

How can i keep my hair straight even when i sweat ?

you can tell the white people who answered this question cuz they said gel, BOO!!!! lol ;-)

but try running some frizz ease or garnier fructis thru your hair then wrapping it up..the hair not all your forehead included. that'll keep most of the sweat out of your hair and allow it not to frizz as easy. another thing that may help ( i do it every now and then) is to blow dry it on the lowest heat setting before you take it down!

How can i keep my hair straight even when i sweat ?

Put your hair in what people call, a "Do Rag"

How can i keep my hair straight even when i sweat ?

you can go to a beauty supply store and they can recommend something. My sister-in-law uses garnier fructis to keep her hair straight.

How can i keep my hair straight even when i sweat ?

tell me when you get the answer i need help too. but i do try to keep it wrapped up when i work out.

How can i keep my hair straight even when i sweat ?

put extra hold gel in it yea

How can i keep my hair straight even when i sweat ?

LOTS and LOTS of gel!! :)

How can i keep my hair straight even when i sweat ?

gel!

How can i keep my hair straight even when i sweat ?

i really don know?????

(sorry)

How can i keep my hair straight even when i sweat ?

When I have been sweating or my hair is slightly wet I place a cotton scarf on until hair drys out. Cotton, because it takes moisture out of hair that is why you don't use them in general. And it prevents hair from poofing up. But this works because my hair already has product in it. I wash my hair approx. 1-2 times a week. Each time I wrap my hair with a foam wrap lotion, then curl hair w/curl wax. It last pretty long. But I will use gel if I need to, and if you use protein gel it will not break off hair. Gels or any other product with alcohol in them will however cause breakage.

Why does their hair grow longer and faster than ours?

I was just wondering, how come Asian,Caucasian, and some Latina women's hair grows faster than us AFrican Americans? Also, why is their hear more fuller, and thicker? Is it beacuse one hair strand is usualluy thinner than AfricanAMerican womans?

Why does their hair grow longer and faster than ours?

The hair follicle determines the shape of the hair. For Asians and Native Americans, the follicle is round, creating straight hair. Most caucasians have a slightly oval follicle causing waves. African Americans have a follicle like a slit, causing very curly, coarse or kinky hair. The growth should be the same, but due to the curl or texture, it may appear that the hair isn't growing as fast. Thick hair is not specific to a race. All races have people with both thin and thick hair.

Why does their hair grow longer and faster than ours?

I thought their hair was thinner than ours, all the African Americans women with long hair that I know have thick healthy hair while the White women have long but thin strands of hair....

Why does their hair grow longer and faster than ours?

i really dont know, but i have seen some really nice weaves on some girls, makes me want one too.

Why does their hair grow longer and faster than ours?

It's so nice to see that you're interested in the really important, and genuine, life issues here.....especially when there are so many people out here that are just into shallow, superficial, self interest things.

Why does their hair grow longer and faster than ours?

Hello. Their hair does not grow faster than ours. The problem with our hair is that it is very fragile, and on top of that we relax it, which breaks the hair down even more. I believe all hair grows about a 1/4 inch a month. If you would like to grown out your hair, the first think you need to do is go to a salon and get i good cut. We tend not to want to cut our hair, but since we don't cut it, we tend to have alot of split ends. Those splite ends make the ends of your hair shorter, event though it is growing form the scalp. Do not use over the counter perms. The have no lye in them, but they are harsher than the perms they use at salons. Ask a beautician to show you how to wrap you hair at night. Our hair also breaks of when we are sleeping, when it rubs against the pillow case. You should go to a salon, get a good cut (cutting off all split ends) have them relax it for you and you should wrap it each night. If you do this for a few months, you will start to see how healthy your hair will start to become. Wash your hair once a week, set it in the hard rollers and sit under a dryer. then flat iron it. Try not to blow dry your hair. good luck

Why does their hair grow longer and faster than ours?

LISTEN everyones hair grows at the same rate every month/years. the reason that black girls cant grow any damn hair is because ya'll treat your hair so terribly-you put chemicals in it by perming it,you stress you hair wayyy to much by putting tight weaves and braids in it-and you apply too much heat with hair dryers and hot combs- I am POSITIVE that EVERY black girl in the country would have to the same long pretty hair as the white and asians is they were to just ease up on the perms, weaves and braids, and heat, alot of black women dont know how to take care of there own hair and thats just a shame- if ya'll were to grow your hair naturally n never perm it and take care of it--ya'll would all have long pretty curly hair (not nappy).

im black myself and i am soooo sick and tired of seeing these black women out hair w/ no hair on their heads or a busted obvious weave-its disgusting.

Why does their hair grow longer and faster than ours?

Afro and Indian hair are some of the thickest around. It is usually caucasian women with the thinner hair. My hair is very full and thick because I take care of it. Thats it, just take proper care of your hair and it will be full, long, and thick in no time. My hair is relaxed and in the middle of my back. The rate at which the hair grows is determined by genetics. That is something beyond anyones control. Do not believe ads or articles that say they have a secret formula for growing faster hair. Its all a scam. Your hair will grow on its own time, it is a process that cannot be rushed.

How to grow strong healthy hair?

i am an african american woman and my hair breaks often, i use relaxers once a month i would like stronger healthier hair any advice or tips or products i should use?

How to grow strong healthy hair?

Typically your hair when clean should be slightly oily. Chemicals can break down the proteins and make the hair dry and brittle causing it to break. Try some warm olive oil or pure vitamin e oil . Leave it on 5-10 minutes then wash with 'gentle' shampoo with no ammonium laureth or laurel sulfates. Ammonium acts a stripper and it dries the scalp too. So if its in your shampoo, its stripping your own hair oils too.

How to grow strong healthy hair?

apply hair oil massage once in a week

How to grow strong healthy hair?

By massaging it with oil and using herbal shampoos.

How to grow strong healthy hair?

try mane n' tail! it makes your hair really strong and helps prevent hair breakage.

How to grow strong healthy hair?

go to a salon or a beauty supplies place and ask them for a leave in conditioner for african american type of hair because since african american hair are really hard to take care.... there special treatment and different ingredients compnay use to treat it...... do the treatment about every other day then i think you hair should be fine.... if dat doesnt sound lke what oyu want to do, ask them for an alternative...
