What's the best hairstyle for a teenage african american if they want to get a weave for the fi

i am scared because im starting at an all new school next year and i don't want to be known as the black girl with a fake hairdo! help!my mom was thinking about getting braids in the front and curly hair extensions in the back (i am part mexican) so i was wondering what do you all think is better to get;weave or extensions!which takes longer and which looks more real!please help! this is life threatening!

What's the best hairstyle for a teenage african american if they want to get a weave for the first time?

It really depends on which style you like. If you go with the weave, make sure you go to a good salon so they can match your hair color, texture up really well. Also, at a good salon, you really won't be able to tell that you have a weave - that's the point. Anyway, getting the braids in the front requires more maintenance as the braids will have to be redone as they get frizzy. Both styles take time, so just look at some hair magazines and find the style that you like. Maybe you can test these styles out over the summer. The braids with extensions might be cheaper though.

i think the extensions are better..they take longer but it is totally worth the wait..i get mine done all the time..as long as the person that does your hair is a professional it will be fine. um..and im sure you wont be the only girl at school with weave or extensions reguardless of color/race unless you get an outrageous style or color they really wont pay attention and i know that first impressions are everything but they really shouldnt criticize you because of how your hair looks.
