I have a weave right now(it's sewn) but I want to soon take it out. I want my hair to grow long. Is there any african american girls with long hair that can give me some tips. I really need the help! Thanks

Hi yes a weave is for your hair if it is sewn in, because your hair is growing underneath and it is protected, for there is nothing for you to do with your hair. If you have used glue please be careful when taking it out as this can take some of your hair out.

weaves are NOT good for your hair if u wear them constantly. your hair needs a break, but it can take it's toll in the long run. growing your hair out takes a good hair care regime and patience. u may also want to monitor your diet. i can go into detail if u like, but what works for me may not necessarily work for u. i had long hair, but i chopped it off. it was too hot and heavy! it was past my shoulders, and now i wear a tapered asymmetrical bob. i don't regret it at all.
