It depends on what type of braids you have and the type of hair you got. If you have synthetic hair you can't wash your hair. If you have human hair you can gently wash you hair to keep if from unraveling. I have microbraids and I put mines in a pony tail and wash the pony tail, it doesn't get to the scalp but it does keep the hair clean that is exposed the most. Or you can put rubber bands where the braid stops and most likely wil unravel and wash it, wait for the hair to dry then take the rubber bands out...Hopefully that helps.

You have to wash them, gently, and I think there's even "braid wash" you can buy.

My nephew has dreads and he uses watered down baby shampoo.

If you are set on not washing your hair (which is not the best idea), you should try scented hair spray... like um Motions Oil Sheen or something. It keeps your hair shiny and it smells good.

My recommendation would be for you to tie the ends of you braids with rubber band and wash it. Don't scrub it because that will definitely make them come loose. Lather the shampoo before putting it on you hair and then let the shower water run it through your hair. :)

Wash your scalp properly and wash your braids as well. I don't like to wash my hair either but that's the only way you can keep it clean.

Have a nice day!

There's a latherless hair and scalp shampoo that you can use to clean your braids and scalp. It's called Herbal Cleanse by Organic Root Stimulator. I have locs and I used it during the locking process when I didn't want to wash my hair. Just put some on a cotton ball and rub in between the braids on your scalp. Then put some in a towel or a cotton square and rub it down the length of the braid if that's what you want to clean, but i usually just concentrated on the scalp which is usually the source of the dirt. Use a fresh towel to rub out excess. It works very well and has a pleasant scent.
