How could i get my hair longer?!?!?

im a 12 year old, african american girl with hair almost past my shoulders.I have heard that our hair is supposed to grow .44mm a day or 6 inches per year, if so then my hair should be longer. If you have any ideas, whatsoever, please help me out i really want to get my hair past my shoulders before i graduate in 8 months.

No one told you relaxers damage hair??? Because of relaxers you must take VERRRRY good care of your hair if you want it to grow. If you don't, your hair will grow, but BREAK off so it looks like it's staying the same forever.

Okay, here is my advice, I know a lot about hair care so this might sound crazy but you can either take my advice or not grow your hair.

First of all, keep your hair moisturized. This is as simple as wetting it in the shower, or wetting your hands and running them through your hair. DO NOT buy any moisturizer that has MINERAL OIL or PETROLATUM!

2)use a wide tooth comb(SPARINGLY!!!) to avoid hairs breaking.

3)Wash your hair AT LEAST!!!!! once a week with shampoo. I wash mine with JUST conditioner sometimes too.

4)after shampooing, DEEP CONDITION by putting condish on your hair and putting a plastic cap over it and leaving it on for 15-30 minutes

5)massage your scalp daily

6)do not put any oils or "grease" on your scalp. Same goes with hair.

If your hair is very damaged or dry at the ends, it may prevent it from growing. Try having the ends trimmed off and condition your hair well if it's dry. But, you have to remember that this number you've got is probably an average and not accurate for everyone; you're hair just may not grow at that rate.

Your hair will grow if you don't use a lot of products and processes on it. Wash your hair the recommended frequency, use the right conditioners, and avoid chemical straightening, curling, relaxing, and coloring.
