How do i flatten my hair?

I am african american and i straighten my hair, but it poofs up afterwards. Is there something to strengthen the effects of the straighetning iron. Or a shampoo/creme to keep my hair flat all day.

You should try olive oil .It is so great for African American hair.

It smells great and it only cost 5 dollars per bottle.

Or you can try any straightening serum by redken... They work really well also. Make sure the hair is clean and does not have a lot of product on it, because hair that is dirty usually will not straighten.

If everytime you straighten it it poofs up, then before you straighten you should use some sort of protecter!!!! If that doesn't help, ask your hairdresser:)

CHI products are fabulous, they are on the upper side of price range but they are so concentrated that it doesn't take a lot of product. And they smell wonderful. I would reccomend the CHI Silk Infusion. It's about $10 at Publix and around $20 in salons. It is great on ethnic and caucasian hair.
