Need help with lice.......?

i used a suggestion on removing lice eggs from my childrens hair and it worked wonderfully except for one problem-i cannot get the product out of my childrens hair!

I used bluemagic(located in african-american hair section) and left

it in their hair for 2-3 days. Lice/eggs gone!kids hair looks and feels like i put straight lard on it , I have washed it at least 6 times and it does not seem to remove it. Is there a secret to removing this bluemagic ? help!!!!

Try washing their hair with DAWN dishwashing liquid. Might need 2 shampooings before it is all out. Be sure not to get it in their eyes (cover forehead and eyes w/a washcloth)

It worked when my son decided to wear peanut butter like sunscreen.

try baking soda. then use the fine tooth comb that comes with the lice kit. good luck!

That's why they make lice removal kits. That is what they are for.

I am not familiar with bluemagic, but if it is greasy you should try to use Dawn diswashing liquid. I have washed my hair with Dawn for years. It does get grease out better than any shampoo can....but be careful. Dawn has amonia in it and it will sting your eyes badly. Do not let the dishwashing liquid get into your childrens' eyes.

Good luck

It's made out of petroleum jelly (like Vaseline) so keep washing! It'll come out eventually.

Try a couple of teaspoon scoops of baking soda mixed in the shampoo. Shampoo a couplf times and let it sit for a couple of minutes each time. I do this to remove buildup in dirty hair so it should help loosen the grease up alot more.

Suggestion #1: Saturate hair in baby oil. Squeeze out as much of the oil as you can, then wash hair three times with Dawn dish soap.

Suggestion #2: Put cornstarch on hair. Pat it in and let it set for a few minutes. Shampoo twice with a clarifying shampoo. Repeat again in 24 hours, if needed.

Suggestion #3: Work peanut butter through hair. Wash thoroughly.

Suggestion #4: Rinse hair with vinegar, then water.

Good luck!

sprinkle the baking soda when the shampoo is in their hair let it set for about a minute and then rinse. Its how I strip my hair when it gets oily.

Doesn't this range also produce shampoos which can probably dislodge the wax stuck in your kids' hair?

Perhaps, you could do what some people resort to when getting old pomade out of their hair: a little Woolite or dish soap applied to dry hair - instead of regular shampoo - to loosen heavy hair wax. Then add tepid water and lather section by section. Finally, rinse off whole head with warm water.

According to the link, cola also helps to dissolve left-over hair waxes.

try vinegar..it will remove oils without being abrasive. Just pour over head and work through hair. Wait a few minutes to rinse. This also works on product build up from gel or hair sprays.
