GIRL i can help! i had jet black hair also an african american. to dye blonde you need to bleach or get a booster if you get a blonde kit it will have the booster in it already. as soon as it is the color you want take it out wash hair with a deep condition. an hot oil treatment or an oil treatment every two weeks is a must you cant let your hair get dry i sugguest you grease your scaple or spray with oil sheen every other day or so. bleach hair must be taken care of make sure you do a deep condition when you wash it good luck

don't leave it in too long and deep condition your hair the day before.

The heat from your scalp sped up the bleaching process, so you may want to try applying the mixture 1/2 inch away from the roots, wait until your hair is almost to the color you want, then apply the mixture to the roots for the last 5-10 minutes of processing.
