First off think of an african american mixed with Black, white, indian, mexican, german.

Second of my hair used to be wavy and curly until my grandma put a relaxer on me (the kind that makes it straight) and so now i have hair of a regular african american and i want my old hair back.

what can i do to get it back because i can't put on a perm (the kind to make it curly).

and my hair is currently cut short but want to grow it back out long but how.

Probably just take Lysine (A vitamin that helps hair growth) and give yourself scalp massages for about ten minutes a day (It promotes hair growth) and just wait... the hair relaxer should ware off eventually

I feel the exact same way as you girl. I used to have beautiful, curly, thick hair then I messed it up with all these **** chemicals and relaxers! And now my hyairs falling out. I'd give anything to have my hair back the way it was before, the way God intended it to be... To all the ladies out there : Be grateful with what you've been given, don't go trying to change yourself, you'll probably never be happy if you do.

Your best bet is to leave the chemicals alone and go natural. Do lots of conditioning, take vitamins and really baby your hair. My secrets are sleeping in satin scarves and unless I am going out in public, I keep my hair tied up. And when I get tired of doing my hair (especially in the summer when its so easy to just wear a pony tail) I wear a lace wig. My hair is to the middle of my back and I am 100% african american as far as I know.

If you are relaxed then don't get another relaxer until school starts. In the meantime protect your ends by moisturizing them and keeping them away from your shoulders so they won't snag or break off on anything (clothes, necklaces,etc.) this will help you retain length so when you do get a relaxer you won't have to cut your hair because of thin, split, see through ends. If you are natural make sure you keep your hair very moisturized and take care off your ends as well since they are the oldest part of the hair. No matter what hair type make sure you cut down on heat to prevent heat damage. There are a lot of styles that you can wear that require little t no heat. And me, I read Black Hair Mags and Seventeen Mag because I like the different articles and clothing well, pretty much everything lol. But my "So Called" friends believe I'm trying to be white.

That's not the case. I have lots of "True Friends" of different races. Should I just dump those so called friends of mine or what? I don't have any online friends.

Well I'm an 18 year old African American who LOVES seventeen mag (and CosmoGirl). I think it's pretty ignorant of your friends to say that you're trying to "be white". My friends use to say the same thing until I had them actually read the articles and look at the cute clothes ya know. I don't think they were trying to be mean by saying that. Some people are closed-minded about things that they're not use to. There's not a black woman/girl on the cover of Seventeen every month so they're probably not going to pick it up. Don't shut your friends out b/c they think that way though. Girl, just continue to read your Seventeen and tell them to mind they business ya kno.

My hairs naturally kinda thin so i need to use a few hair products to make it atleast look normal. Also, it's not like most african american hair and has the texture of latino or caucasin hair so it moves freely and it's soft and stuff. :]
